Who discovered the first black hole?

The first black hole was not discovered by a single person, but rather through the work of multiple scientists including John Michell, Pierre-Simon Laplace, and Albert Einstein. The first confirmed detection of a black hole was made by astronomers Cygnus X-1 in 1971.
