Why do babies spit up?

  • Babies
  • Spitting up
  • Digestive system

Babies spit up because their digestive system is still developing and their lower esophageal sphincter is not fully matured. This allows stomach contents to flow back up into the esophagus. It is usually not a cause for concern and resolves on its own. (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spitting_up)
